Before 1991: The fight against doping was still a "utopia"

1991: milestone with the discovery of 2 "positive" cases.

After 1991: Awareness of the Tunisian authorities' need to address this issue and find a radical solution.

In 2000 implementation of the National Laboratory of doping detection and accreditation obtention in 2001.

Creation of the agency

In 2003, setting up a unit to fight against doping in the National Center for Medicine and Sports Science.

In 2007, creation of the National Anti-Doping Agency (ANAD) under Law No. 2007/54 of 8 August 2007.

The ANAD is the only official partner with internationally accredited laboratories and with structures and national and international sports bodies in the fight against doping in sport.
